Worksop Amateur Football League

The Worksop Amateur Football League is an amateur football league based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. It was founded in 1972 and currently has 24 teams competing in four divisions. The league is affiliated to the Nottinghamshire FA.

History

The Worksop Amateur Football League was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has 24 teams competing in four divisions.

The league is affiliated to the Nottinghamshire FA, which means that its teams are eligible to compete in the FA Vase and the FA Sunday Cup. The league has also produced a number of players who have gone on to play professional football, including former Worksop Town player Lee Hughes.

Current Season

The current season of the Worksop Amateur Football League is the 2022-23 season. The league is currently in its mid-season break, with the top four teams in each division separated by just a few points.

The title race in Division One is particularly close, with Worksop Town Reserves, Worksop Town Juniors, and Worksop Town Under-21s all vying for top spot. In Division Two, the battle for promotion is between Worksop Town Veterans and Worksop Town Over-35s.
