The Liverpool Business Houses League (MBHFL) is an amateur football league based in Merseyside, England. It was founded in 1921 and currently consists of over 100 teams playing in 5 divisions.

History

The MBHFL was founded in 1921 by a group of businessmen who wanted to provide a competitive footballing outlet for their employees. The league initially consisted of just 8 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams.

The MBHFL has been home to some of the best amateur footballers in Merseyside over the years. Former Liverpool and England player Ian Rush played in the league for the BRNESC team in the 1970s, and former Everton and England player Peter Reid also played in the league for the Canada team in the 1980s.

Current Structure

The MBHFL currently consists of 5 divisions: Premier Division, Championship, Division 1, Division 2, and Development League. The Premier Division is the top division, and the Development League is the bottom division.

The league season runs from September to April, with each team playing each other once in a round-robin format. The top teams in each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the next division.

Cup Competitions

The MBHFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Senior Cup, Junior Cup, and Veterans Cup. The Senior Cup is the most prestigious cup competition in the league, and the winners of the cup qualify for the FA Vase.
