About CFNT FC Channel Four News Team

Information & History Channel Four News Team is a New Zealand semi-professional football club, based in Howick, Auckland, and plays in the Open A Championship. Founded as Team Forbo in 2005, the club changed its name to Team Siegling in 2007, and once again in 2010 to Channel Four News Team F.C., while it has been at Riverhills Park since foundation. Foundation After the hostile takeover of the club by the GydeLumleyPrestigeWorldWide Consortium, the new owners implemented a new Club Name, Emblem, Strucutre and Management team at what was formally known as Team Siegling (formerly Forbo Enterprises). Despite not making any public statements before, after or during their ownership of Channel Four News Team, there is no doubt that there tenure at the club has been an overwhelming success. GLP WorldWide, as they trade on the NY and LDN Stock Exchange, operate a fluid management structure at the club, currently operating without a C.E.O. or C.F.O. but instead employ Lewis Gyde as a player and First-Team Coach and Manager, with Scott Lumley, Josh Hurn and Rowan Gyde forming his backroom staff. Crest and Colours The clubs crest derives from the original Channel Four News Team logo from the now defunct KVWN-TV network, of San Diego. While keeping the emblem simple in nature, it alludes to its historical nature with the letters 'C B B R' circling the '4', which symbolise the four founding members of the News Team, Champion "Champ" Kind, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Ron Burgundy. While CFNT FC played in Grey jerseys, with purple stripes and dark shorts (indescript), club management were able to implement there long-term plan to develop the club into a more comprehensively professional organisation, by first commissioning the creation of a new kit. With the clubs new sponsorship by Nike, CFNT have developed both a dramatic and 'classy' home kit. In keeping with the Ron Burgundy-inspired theme, Nike and CFNT chose a striking, dark maroon (the same colour as Rons favourite piece), one colour top, with the emblem now in stark white, to match the Nike 'tick' on the opposing chest. Combined with this is a dark navy blue short, one colour also, and finished with a matching dark maroon sock, with a thick grey band along the top, to pay homage to the previous kit. Support Channel Four News Team FC is reputed to be the most popular football club in the Howick/Pakuranga area, with one of the highest average home attendance in East Auckland. The club states that its citywide fan base includes more than 200 officially recognised branches of the Channel Four News Team Supporters Club (CFNTSC), in at least 24 suburbs. The club takes advantage of this support through its citywide winter tours. Accountancy firm and sports industry consultants Deloitte estimate that Channel Four has 75 fans worldwide, while other estimates put this figure closer to 335. Supporters are represented by two independent bodies; the Independent Channel Four News Team Supporters Association (CFNTSA), which maintains close links to the club through the CFNT FC Fans Forum, and the CFNT Supporters Trust. After the GydeLumleyPrestigeWorldWide takeover in 2010, a group of fans formed a splinter club, F.C. News Team of Channel Four. The West Bank of Riverhills – the "Ti Rakau End" – is the home end and the traditional source of the club's most vocal support.
