This morning Cassies welcomed Shrewsury DC.

DC won the toss and chose for Cassies to kick off.

It didn't take long for the scoring to start as from a Cassies goal kick Neo won the flick on and Shinna slotted home with only 80 seconds on the clock.

DC were straight out the blocks after there kick off and a long range effort sailed over the bar, DC were now awake and on 10 mins they had another good effort that went just wide, this was looking like a good competitive match.

On 21 mins perksy up ended a DC striker on the edge of the box, the resulting free kick was defended well.

Cassies now upped the attack and cambo delivered a good cross but Neo was unable to convert the chance. Another chance game when a flick from Sam found Shinna high and wide and he delivered a great cross into the box unfortunately no Cassies player was there to meet it.

HALF TIME

Cassies 1-0 Shrewsury DC

Second Half.

With just 2 mins in to the second half a defensive misunderstanding led to DC getting the ball and the forward made no mistake slotting the ball in to the Cassies net 1-1.

Straight from the kick off Cassies lost possession of the ball resulting in a nothing corner.

Up the other end a great cross field ball from jospin landed at the feet of Macalla who rifled a shot that left the DC cross bar shaking. From the subsequent goal kick DC were back on the attack and a deflected shot left Brimma wrong footed and DC were 2-1.

It was 17 mins into the second half before Cassies got there first corner and after a bit of pinball Painy tried an acrobatical overhead kick that was inches over the bar. Another Cassies attack found jospin surrounded by 4 players he still managed to get the shot off that went just wide.

There were a few more good chances for both teams but when the final whistle blew it was Shrewsbury who took the 3 point in a really competitive game.

Joe Reynolds got man of the match for defending well against a player twice his size.

Well done lads.
