St Michaels successfully reached the 2nd round of the Arnold & May cup with a convincing win over their old rivals F C Puma. Whilst there was only one goal in it St Michaels had the majority of play with Harry Graham in goal being a virtual passenger for the whole game.
Once again St Michaels started brightly and after only 5 minutes a Danny Baptiste corner came of Connor Reardon to allow Adam Fahy to net from close in to open the scoring. St Michaels continued to press but their shooting was pretty abysmal and there was no further action in the first half until after the whistle had been blown for Half Time Ryan Nibbs and a F C Puma player were sent off, Ryan’s was for a second yellow having been booked after 35 minutes.
After 61 minutes the referee saw fit to book Connor Reardon for trying to get an F C Puma player to move back after a free kick had been awarded to St Michaels. Tom Pexton came on Dan Tarrant after 72 minutes and with 10 minutes to go Wayne Richardson came on for Danny Baptiste. St Michaels continued to press but the score remained 0 – 1 at Full Time.
Not a brilliant display, especially up front for St Michaels but the one shining light was a skilful display in midfield by Jack Jolly who is this week’s Man of the Match.
