Northallerton Police v Travaux 6.4.14

We had the best of the early exchanges and put Travaux under pressure but with a combination of poor finishing and a couple of fine saves from Travaux keeper John James Elliott the Travaux goal remained intact.

We took the lead after 29mins when a Gary Shardha cross was headed back across goal by Ben Darville and Chris Walker rifled home from 4 yards.

It was 2-0 after 32mins with a fine team goal.  Sam Vernalls played in Walker who passed to Liam Darville who turned sharply in the box and shot home from 10 yards.

Three mins before half time Ben Darville sustained a pulled hamstring and was replaced by Chris Pattison.

 Half time 2-0.

Travaux came out strongly in the second half putting us under pressure and reduced the arrears after 63mins when Stuart Brown fired a great free kick from 25 yards into the top right hand corner of the net.

We hit back and two mins later Liam Darvilles rasping cross shot from 15 yards came back off the cross bar.

Three mins later it was 3-1 when Ashley Mc Inerneys corner was headed home at the near post by Sam Vernalls.

On 73mins Jonny Morris replaced Ricky Schofield and scored with his first touch of the game when he headed home Chris Walkers cross.

With 8mins left Peter Hurry reduced the arrears when his 30 yarder went under Adam Cunninghams body.

 Full time 4-2.

Stuart Brown took the man of the match award for Travaux with Chris Walker taking it for the Police.
