Newpark began the day looking to extend their
lead at the top of division 3 with a hard fought
game with second place Glenravel.
the opening parts of the game glenravel threatened
newpark with a chance for only gary heaney to save.
Glenravel then got themselves a few corners and newpark
responded well defensively.
Newpark then grabbed a goal against the run of play from
a victor gibson free kick for marky freeburn to flick on
past the glenravel keeper. newpark then began getting into
there groove when gary brown went on a maisy run for only
the ball to hit the post. Newpark then threatened again when
gary brown squared the ball back for mark freeburn and only for
glenravel keeper newpark could have doubled their lead.
Second half started very scrappy with most of the play coming
in the middle of the park, the second half was very quiet
until towards the end of the game when glenravel had a chance
in the dying minutes only for gary heaney to save.
