Harley United 0 vs 4 Lambeth Classics FC First

Lambeth Classics cruised into the Beckenham Cup Final with a 4-0 victory against Harley United. Classics did not play as well as our previous game, looking indecisive and too many times choosing the wrong option or lacking overall vision but when we did attack, it was with a belief that we could score at any time. Just like the British weather, we showed all our elements in one 90 minute cup semi final.

The Good – How we showed composure in front of goal, looking solid at the back with good work rate and pace on the wings.

The Bad – Dwelling on the ball not moving it quick enough, believing the game was won when there was so much work that still needed doing.

The Ugly – Losing focus on the task ahead, becoming individualistic rather than team focus.

Harley showed a lot of heart in this game and at times moved the ball well, but once there left winger was substituted I personally felt they too of their most dangerous player which enabled us to attack more on our right side. Two goals apiece from the dynamic duo of Rodney and Ade saw Lambeth move forward to a much anticipated final against cup holders Interwood on the 23rd May.

The focus will return back onto the league with a must win game against Dees if we have any ambitions to win the league and to do this we must stick to our principles, show character and have belief in our fellow player, providing we do this then the last few games will take care of themselves and the players could look in the mirror proud of the teams and their own personal achievements.
