H.G. United 4 vs 0 Mosely Village

 Hats off to Ricketts as he Rifles United

in to the next round!! 

H.G. united manager James Wright was said to be delighted with his teams performance after his team thumped mosely 4-0 in the first round of the Alliance cup!

With H.G. showing off their new kit They soon Started to take control of the game when Wright turned and fired a low shot after 5 minutes and Tom Knight hitting the cross bar after 20 minutes,

But united soon found themselves on the back foot and had to deal with a number of corners on the half hour mark, then after 35 minutes a quick break from united saw the ball played down the right hand side and tom send a lovely through ball into butterly who took aim an fired across the keeper only for him to parry it into the path of Stuart Ricketts who made no mistake and cooly slotted the ball home 1-0!!

United grew in confidence and soon had the chance to double the lead.. another move down the right hand side saw butterly and tom link well and tom found himself with acres of space on the six yard box he sent a lovely chipped ball across the face of goal only for the defender to do enough to distract Ricketts as he mis-qued his shot.

But Ricketts was soon on hand to double the lead as Tom sent a lovely lofted ball over the defenders head into the path of Ricketts as he shaped up to shoot the defender made a clumsy challenge and stu dusted himself down to finish the resulting Penalty 2-0!!

HALF TIME

During the break the players were reminded about last weeks game, And they made certain that it wasn't going to happen again When wella and sean linked up well down the left .. the ball was played into the path of Butterly who linked up well with blake but the final ball just wasn't good enough and went sailing over the bar.

H.g. kept pressing and in the 60th minute got the break through when Wright gambled on a clearence From Browning  the ball bounced over the defenders head and Wright beat the keeper with a great header back across goal.. into the path of Ricketts who connected well and sent a lovely header over two defenders and into the roof of the net! 3-0

 Wright came off soon after and made way for Boyd making his debut and he soon made his mark beating 2 defenders and firing just wide after 70 minutes.

By this point the mosely defence had really given up and it was one way traffic for a while with Boyd and ricketts firing just over... But the ball was soon in the back of the net when Blake picked up the ball just outside the area he beat his marker and rifled the ball into the bottom right hand corner 4-0!!

United still pressed and really should of made it 5 when the ball was played through into the path of Conehead who mis-timed his shot and sent it wide..

Mosely Started to press again in the last ten minutes but Uniteds back line holding out well  to keep the clean sheet.
