Hawkins Sports Under 13's 4 vs 0 Red Star Rangers

This was a much needed run out for the lads having not played since early December. With Brogan out injured it was left to Toby to play in goal. The game started with us in control and pushing to score the all-important first goal. This came from a cracking corner on right swung in beautifully by Seb, Josh was on hand to fire the ball home at the second attempt after a fine save by the keeper (something we were to get used to during the course of the match)

Having taken the lead, the lads pushed on for a second only to be denied by some great keeping, a last ditch clearance off the line and an unbelievable miss by Kian when it seemed easier to score. We were then awarded a penalty and after recent issues from the spot for Ellison and Rhys the honor was given to Seb. He stepped up coolly and smashed the ball wide!

The second half started with Red Star trying to get back into the game and pushing hard in the middle of the park to gain an advantage, he lads battled hard and kept creating chances. Ellison was to pop up with our second at the back post following a fine double save from there keeper.

Having got the daylight our play deserved we were able to control the game sit back and pick out passes. Rhys came into his own on the right hand side of the front 2, He found his way through and slotted home our third, 5 minutes later it was game over when from distance Rhys looked up, saw the keeper off his line and beat him with a finish from all of 30 yards.
