Future Stars Academy welcomed KIS Select to Kalieka Primary School Ground on 6 April 2026 for a friendly match kicking off at 10:00am.
The home side delivered a commanding performance, running out comfortable 5-0 winners. Referee Justin Umali oversaw a one-sided encounter that showcased Future Stars Academy’s attacking prowess and tactical discipline.
Future Stars Academy lined up in a 3-4-3 formation, deploying three defenders at the back with Mathews Renald on the right, Kelvin Champion centrally, and Mussa Hassan on the left.
The midfield quartet consisted of Blessings George on the right wing, Philip Thauzeni and Japhet Banda centrally, and Hollace Major on the left.
Upfront, the attacking trio featured William Chipwaila on the right, Vincent Lefani as the central striker, and Andrew Bulirani on the left.
This setup was designed to provide width and creativity from the midfield flanks while allowing Lefani to spearhead the attack with support from the forwards.
The substitutes named were Shabir John, Shadreck Kawala, Justin Magalasi, Lux Bushiri, and Success Phiri.
The match began with a tactical substitution as early as the 17th minute when Shabir John replaced Japhet Banda, signalling a shift in midfield dynamics.
Just four minutes later, Future Stars Academy opened the scoring through their talismanic striker Vincent Lefani, assisted by a long pass from Blessings George, Lefani calmly finished with his right foot from close range inside the box, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
The home side continued to press and extend their lead in the 29th minute when Lefani turned provider, delivering a precise cross that found Hollace Major.
Major rose above the defence to head home a well-worked team move from outside the box, doubling the advantage before the break.
At half-time, Future Stars Academy led 2-0.
The second half saw no let-up from the hosts as they quickly added a third goal in the 49th minute.
William Chipwaila played a short pass to Lefani, who again finished expertly inside the box with his right foot, demonstrating his clinical nature in front of goal.
In the 60th minute, an injury forced a substitution as Shadreck Kawala came on for Shabir John, maintaining the team’s shape and intensity.
The visitors struggled to respond as Future Stars Academy continued to dominate possession and territory.
Vincent Lefani completed his hat-trick in the 70th minute, this time converting a cross from William Chipwaila with a right-footed strike from outside the box.
The goal was another product of slick team play and highlighted Lefani’s versatility and sharpness in different attacking scenarios.
Tactical changes followed in quick succession with Justin Magalasi replacing Andrew Bulirani in the 73rd minute and Lux Bushiri coming on for Hollace Major a minute later.
These substitutions injected fresh legs and maintained the attacking impetus.
The scoring was not finished as Justin Magalasi headed home a cross from Blessings George in the 86th minute, adding a fifth goal to the tally.
This header was a testament to the team’s aerial threat and George’s continued influence from the right midfield.
Shortly after, Success Phiri was introduced for the departing Vincent Lefani, who had been the standout performer throughout the match.
Lefani’s three goals and one assist earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match accolade.
Future Stars Academy’s 5-0 victory was a comprehensive display of attacking football, tactical flexibility, and defensive solidity.
