2025 - 12 Teams across 2 Divisions
The Wessex Independent Schools League (WISL) is an amateur football league for independent schools in the south west of England. It was founded in 1972 and currently has over 60 member schools.
The WISL is divided into a number of divisions, based on the age and ability of the players. The top division is the U18 First Division, followed by the U18 Second Division, the U18 Third Division, and the U16 First Division. There are also divisions for girls and younger age groups.
The WISL season runs from September to April, with each team playing each other once. The top teams in each division qualify for promotion, while the bottom teams are relegated.
