History

The Vauxhall - Thursday Amateur Football League was founded in 1947 by a group of local footballers. The league originally consisted of just 6 teams, but it has since grown to its current size of 10 teams. The league has been played continuously since its inception, and it has produced a number of talented players who have gone on to play professional football.

The league is currently sponsored by the Vauxhall Motors car company. The league trophy is named after the Vauxhall Motors chairman, Sir David Brown.
