Torneo La Lagunita is an amateur football league in Caracas, Venezuela. It is organized by the Lagunita Country Club and is open to players of all ages and skill levels. The league plays on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.

History

Torneo La Lagunita was founded in 1960. The original purpose of the league was to provide a recreational outlet for the members of the Lagunita Country Club. However, the league has since grown to become one of the most popular amateur football leagues in Venezuela.

The league has produced several professional footballers, including Juan Arango, who played for Venezuela in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.

Format

Torneo La Lagunita is a 10-team league. The teams are divided into two groups of five, with each team playing each other team in their group once. The top two teams from each group advance to the playoffs, which are played in a single-elimination format.

Rules

The rules of Torneo La Lagunita are based on the rules of FIFA. However, there are a few modifications to the rules, such as the use of a smaller field and a shorter game clock.

Prizes

The winning team of Torneo La Lagunita receives a trophy and a cash prize. The runners-up also receive a cash prize.
