The Hastings & District Football Association (HDFA) is an amateur football league based in Hastings, East Sussex, England. It was founded in 1885 and currently has over 100 member clubs.

The HDFA operates a number of leagues for men, women, and youth players. The men's leagues range from the Premier Division, which is at step 7 of the National League System, to the Division 9, which is the lowest level of competition. The women's leagues range from the Premier Division to the Division 3. The youth leagues range from the Under-18 Premier Division to the Under-11 Division 2.

The HDFA also organizes a number of cup competitions, including the FA Vase, the Sussex Senior Cup, and the Hastings & District Senior Cup.

History

The HDFA was founded in 1885 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first chairman was Mr. W.H. Mayhew. The first season of competition was in 1886-87, with just six clubs taking part.

The HDFA has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 member clubs. The Premier Division, which is the top level of competition, was formed in 1987.

The HDFA has played a major role in the development of football in the Hastings area. Many former HDFA players have gone on to play professional football, including Jimmy Greaves, who played for the HDFA before moving to Chelsea in 1957.
