About Smarter Than Smoking Junior
Read more →The Smarter Than Smoking Junior Football League is an amateur football league for under-13 to under-18 players in Western Australia. It is run by Football West, the governing body for football in Western Australia.
The league was founded in 2004 as part of a statewide initiative to reduce smoking rates among young people. The name of the league is a play on words, as it encourages young people to be "smarter than smoking" by choosing to play football instead.
The Smarter Than Smoking Junior Football League is divided into a number of divisions, based on age and skill level. Each division has a regular season, followed by a finals series. The top teams in each division qualify for the finals series, which culminates in a grand final.
