History

The Romford & District Churches Football League was founded in 1922 by a group of church-going footballers who wanted to provide a competitive outlet for their hobby. The league initially had just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 50 teams competing in various divisions.

The league is affiliated to the Football Association and its teams compete in the FA Vase and the FA Sunday Cup. The league has also produced a number of players who have gone on to play professional football, including former England internationals John Barnes and Teddy Sheringham.

Current season

The current season of the Romford & District Churches Football League is the 2022-23 season. The league is divided into four divisions, with the top division being the Premier Division. The current champions of the Premier Division are Evolve First.

The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the Charity Shield. The current holders of the League Cup are Luna First, the current holders of the Challenge Cup are Evolve First, and the current holders of the Charity Shield are St. Luke's.
