2019/20 Season - 1 Teams across 1 Divisions
The Rochdale Bury & District Sunday Football League (RBDSFL) is an amateur football league based in the Greater Manchester area. It was founded in 1921 and currently has over 100 teams competing in five divisions.
The RBDSFL is affiliated to the Football Association and its teams compete in the FA Sunday Cup. The league also has its own cup competition, the RBDSFL Challenge Cup.
The RBDSFL was founded in 1921 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league's first season saw just six teams compete, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in the country.
The RBDSFL has a long and proud history, and has produced some talented players over the years. Former England internationals Gary Neville and Phil Neville both played in the league during their youth, and more recently, Rochdale AFC defender Josh Lillis played in the league before turning professional.
The RBDSFL is divided into five divisions: Premier Division, Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and Division 4. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
The league also has a cup competition, the RBDSFL Challenge Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the league, and the winner is crowned the "Sunday Cup Champions".
The 2022/23 season is currently underway. The Premier Division is currently being led by AFC Baum, while Division 1 is being led by Totty Robins AFC.
The season will conclude in May 2023, with the finals of the RBDSFL Challenge Cup being played at Heywood St James.
