The Practical Liverpool District Sunday League was founded in 1903 by a group of local businessmen. The league was originally called the Liverpool Sunday League, but it was renamed the Practical Liverpool District Sunday League in 1919.
The league has been running continuously since its inception, and it has seen a number of changes over the years. In the early days, the league was only open to amateur players, but it eventually opened up to semi-professional players as well. The league has also expanded over the years, and it now has teams from all over Liverpool and the surrounding area.
