The Peterlee & District Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Peterlee, County Durham, England. It was founded in 1970 and currently consists of 10 divisions, with over 100 teams participating.
The league is affiliated to the North East Counties Football Association and plays its matches on Sunday mornings. The top division of the league is the Premier Division, which is currently won by Roseberry Park FC.
History
The Peterlee & District Sunday League was founded in 1970 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially consisted of just 6 teams, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in County Durham.
The league has been won by a number of different teams over the years, including Roseberry Park FC, Horden JDB Wanderers, and East Durham Community. The current champions are Roseberry Park FC, who won the Premier Division title in the 2022-23 season.
