The Optimus Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Littlehampton, West Sussex, England. It was founded in 2009 and currently has 37 teams competing in three divisions.
The Optimus Sunday League was founded in 2009 by a group of friends who wanted to create a more relaxed and enjoyable footballing experience than the traditional Saturday league. The league has since grown to become one of the largest and most popular amateur football leagues in West Sussex.
The league is affiliated to the Sussex County Football Association (SCFA) and follows its rules and regulations. However, the Optimus Sunday League also has its own unique set of rules, which are designed to encourage a more friendly and competitive atmosphere.
The Optimus Sunday League currently has three divisions: Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3. Each division has 12 teams, which play each other home and away. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the previous division.
The league also has a cup competition, which is open to all teams in the league. The cup competition is played in a knockout format, with the winners of each round progressing to the next round. The final of the cup competition is usually played in May.
