The Old Boys League is an amateur football league in England. It was founded in 1922 and currently has 36 teams competing in four divisions. The league is affiliated to the Football Association (FA) and its teams compete in the FA Vase and the FA Sunday Cup. The league also has its own cup competitions, including the Bill Hughes Senior Shield and the Alan Brown Trophy.
The Old Boys League was founded in 1922 by a group of former Liverpool footballers who wanted to continue playing the game after they had retired. The league's first season had just six teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 300 players. The Old Boys League has produced a number of talented footballers over the years, including former Liverpool players such as Jimmy Case, Ronnie Whelan, and Ian Rush. The league also has a strong tradition of producing referees, with several Old Boys League referees going on to officiate in the Football League and the FA Cup.
The current season of the Old Boys League is the 2023-2024 season. The league is divided into four divisions: Premier Division, Championship, League One, and League Two. The Premier Division is the top division, followed by the Championship, League One, and League Two. The winners of each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom teams are relegated to the lower division.
