About Northampton Town and District League Football League
Introduction
The Northampton Town and District League Football League is an amateur football league in Northampton, England. It was founded in 1907 as the Northampton and District League. The league was originally divided into two divisions, but this was reduced to one division in 1965. The league has been affiliated to the Football Association since 1921.
The league currently has 20 teams, all of which are based in the Northampton area. The season runs from September to May, with each team playing each other once in a home and away fixture. The top team at the end of the season is promoted to the Northants Combination League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Northampton Sunday League.
