The North East Sunday League is an amateur football league in the north east of England. It is one of the largest Sunday leagues in the country, with over 200 clubs competing in a variety of divisions.
The league was founded in 1925 and is affiliated to the North East Football Association. It is divided into 10 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The top two teams in each division are promoted, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
The league season runs from September to May, with each team playing 20 matches. The FA Sunday Cup is the premier cup competition for Sunday league teams in England. The North East Sunday League champions qualify for the FA Sunday Cup.
