The Metropolitan Sunday League is a football league in England for amateur Sunday league teams. It is the largest Sunday league in the country, with over 1,000 teams competing in 50 divisions.
The league was founded in 1921 and is based in London. The current champions are Sporting Club Queensway, who won the title in 2022.
The Metropolitan Sunday League was founded in 1921 by a group of amateur footballers who wanted to play competitive football on Sundays. The first season saw 12 teams compete, and the league has since grown to over 1,000 teams.
The league has been home to some of the best amateur footballers in the country, including former England internationals Geoff Hurst and Bobby Moore. The league has also produced a number of professional footballers, including Jermain Defoe, Ashley Cole, and Frank Lampard.
The Metropolitan Sunday League is divided into 50 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The Premier Division is the top division, and the teams in this division compete for the league title.
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the Metropolitan Sunday League Cup, the London Sunday Cup, and the Middlesex Senior Cup.
