Read more →League One is the second-highest division of the English Football League and the third tier overall in the English football league system. It is known as Sky Bet League One for sponsorship purposes.
The league was formed in 2004 as a rebrand of the Football League Second Division, which itself was a rebrand of the Football League Third Division before the 1992 launch of the Premier League.
The current champions are Rotherham United, who won the title in the 2022-23 season.
