The Kim Little League was founded in 1952 by Kim Little, a former professional football player. Little was inspired to start the league after his son was denied the opportunity to play football because of his race. The league quickly became popular, and today it is one of the largest amateur football leagues in the Bay Area.

The Kim Little League has produced several professional football players, including Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, and Jerry Rice. The league is also known for its commitment to diversity and inclusion. In 2016, the league was awarded the NFL's Diversity Award for its efforts to promote diversity in football.
