The Herts Ad Sunday League was founded in 1928 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league was originally called the Herts Advertiser Sunday League, after the local newspaper that sponsored it. The league has been running continuously ever since, and has grown to become one of the largest and most popular amateur football leagues in Hertfordshire.

The Herts Ad Sunday League is divided into six divisions, with the top division being the Premier Division.
