The Halifax Saturday League is an amateur football league based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1903 and currently has over 100 teams competing in its various divisions.
History
The Halifax Saturday League was founded in 1903 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league initially consisted of just six teams, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in England.
The league has been home to many talented players over the years, including former professional footballers such as Peter Beardsley, Paul Jewell, and Paul Scholes.
Divisions
The Halifax Saturday League currently has 10 divisions, ranging from the Premier Division to Division 10. The Premier Division is the top division in the league, and it is currently contested by 16 teams.
The league also has a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the Charity Shield.
