Euro Soccer Long Eaton Sunday League is an amateur football league based in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, England. It was founded in 1972 and currently consists of 20 teams. The league is affiliated to the Derbyshire County Football Association.

History

Euro Soccer Long Eaton Sunday League was founded in 1972 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just 10 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years. In 2023, the league consists of 20 teams, divided into two divisions.

The league has produced a number of talented players over the years. Some of the players who have gone on to play professional football include:

  • Andy Hinchcliffe (former Sheffield Wednesday and Everton defender)
  • Chris Basham (current Sheffield United defender)
  • Michael Tonge (former Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder)

Format

The Euro Soccer Long Eaton Sunday League season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other once in the regular season, with the top teams from each division qualifying for the playoffs. The winners of the playoffs are crowned champions.

The league also has a cup competition, the Euro Soccer Long Eaton Sunday League Cup. The cup competition is open to all teams in the league, and the winner of the cup is also crowned champions.
