About Ele League

Introduction

The ELE League is an amateur football league for children and young adults in East London and Essex. It was founded in 1998 by Joe Long and former QPR player Peter Hucker.

The league currently runs teams from Under 7s to Under 16/17s. All games are played at the same venue each week, which makes it convenient for players and parents.

The ELE League is endorsed by former England international Rio Ferdinand.

History

The ELE League was founded in 1998, with the introduction of small-sided football by the FA. The league initially launched as a 7-a-side league, but progressed into 11-a-side games in 2000.

The league has grown steadily over the years, and now has over 200 teams participating. It is one of the largest amateur football leagues in East London and Essex.

Venues

The ELE League games are played at two venues:

  • Wanstead Flats
  • Ford Sports Club, Newbury Park
