Durham County Schools' FA U19 League

The Durham County Schools' FA U19 League is an amateur football league for boys and girls aged 16-19 who are in full-time education in County Durham, England.

The league was founded in 1994-95 and currently has 12 teams. The teams are divided into two regionalized leagues, with each league playing a double round-robin format. The top two teams from each league qualify for the play-offs, with the winners of the play-offs being crowned champions.

The current champions are St John's School, who won the title in 2022-23.

Rules

  • Players must be over the age of 16 years and under 19 years at midnight between the previous 31st August and 1st September, and in full time education.
  • The league will be limited to a maximum of 12 (i.e. 11 games). If applications exceed this then two regionalised leagues (maxiumum of 14 games)Â will be set up (to ease travelling) with a play-off at the end of the season.
  • Schools with a 6th form of over 350 pupils will only be allowed to enter 2 separate teams, a Year 12 team and a Year 13 team.
  • Students on courses based on day release are ineligible to take part in this competition.
  • Students who have enrolled at an establishment as part of a football academy programme are ineligible to participate in this competition save for the Albert Knox Trophy.
