The DUSL was founded in 1972 by a group of students who wanted to provide a competitive footballing outlet for students of the University of Dundee. The league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 50 teams competing in three divisions.
The DUSL has produced a number of talented players over the years, including former Scotland internationals Gary Naysmith and Steven Fletcher.
The DUSL currently has three divisions: the Premiership, the Championship, and the Division 1. The Premiership is the top division and is contested by the best teams in the league. The Championship is the second division and is contested by the teams that finished below the top four in the Premiership the previous season. The Division 1 is the third division and is contested by the teams that finished below the top eight in the Championship the previous season.
The DUSL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the President's Cup. The League Cup is open to all teams in the league, while the Challenge Cup is open to teams in the Premiership and the Championship. The President's Cup is a knockout competition for teams in the Premiership.
