The Darlington Sunday Invitation League is an amateur football league based in Darlington, County Durham, England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has 14 teams competing in a single division.
The league is affiliated to the Durham Football Association and is not officially part of the English football league system, but is recognised at various levels by the FA.
The Darlington Sunday Invitation League was founded in 1920 by a group of local footballers. The league initially had just six teams, but it has since grown to its current size of 14 teams.
The league has been won by a number of different teams over the years, including Darlington Railway Athletic, Darlington Town, and Darlington FC Reserves. The current champions are Darlington The Grey Horse.
The Darlington Sunday Invitation League season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team twice, once at home and once away.
The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the North Riding Sunday League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Darlington and District Sunday League.
