The Charleroi Amateur Football League (CAFL) is an amateur football league in the city of Charleroi, Belgium. It was founded in 1920 and currently has over 100 clubs affiliated with it. The CAFL is divided into four divisions, with the top division being the Promotion League.
The CAFL was founded in 1920 by a group of football enthusiasts in Charleroi. The league initially had just six clubs, but it has grown steadily over the years. In 1976, the CAFL was divided into two divisions, and in 1991, it was divided into three divisions. The current four-division format was introduced in 2002.
The CAFL is divided into four divisions: Promotion League, First Division, Second Division, and Third Division. The Promotion League is the top division, and the Third Division is the lowest division. Each division is further divided into groups, with each group containing 10 teams. The teams play each other twice in a season, once at home and once away. The top two teams in each group at the end of the season are promoted to the next higher division, and the bottom two teams in each group are relegated to the next lower division.
