The C&RPYFL (Capital & Royal Palm Youth Football League) is an amateur football league for children in the Washington, D.C. area. The league was founded in 1962 and currently has over 1,000 players.
The C&RPYFL offers programs for players of all ages, from flag football for toddlers to tackle football for high school students. The league also offers a variety of other programs, such as cheerleading and flag football for girls.
The C&RPYFL is a member of the National Youth Football Federation (NYFF). The NYFF is a national organization that provides resources and support to amateur football leagues across the United States.
The C&RPYFL season runs from August to November. The season is divided into two divisions: the fall division and the spring division.
The fall division is the more competitive division. The teams in the fall division play a 10-game regular season, followed by a playoff tournament.
The spring division is less competitive. The teams in the spring division play a 6-game regular season, followed by a playoff tournament.
The C&RPYFL has over 50 teams. The teams are divided into four divisions: the pee-wee division, the youth division, the junior varsity division, and the varsity division.
The pee-wee division is for players ages 5-7. The youth division is for players ages 8-10. The junior varsity division is for players ages 11-13. The varsity division is for players ages 14-16.
The C&RPYFL follows the rules of the National Football League (NFL). However, there are some modifications to the rules to make the game safer for younger players.
For example, the C&RPYFL uses a smaller football and a shorter field than the NFL. The C&RPYFL also has stricter rules about tackling.
