About Campionato
Read more →Campionato is an amateur football league in Italy. It is the second tier of the Italian football league system, below Serie A and above Serie C. The league is divided into two divisions, Serie B and Serie C.
The Campeonato was founded in 1929 as the Prima Divisione. It was renamed Serie B in 1930. The league has been played in its current format since 2004.
The Campeonato is contested by 20 teams. Each team plays each other team twice, once home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to Serie A, while the bottom four teams are relegated to Serie C.
