Barclays Premier League

Introduction

The Barclays Premier League is an amateur football league in England. It was founded in 2001 by clubs in the Football League First Division. The league is currently sponsored by Barclays, but the sponsorship deal ends in 2023.

The Barclays Premier League season runs from August to May. Each team plays 38 matches, home and away, against the other 19 teams. The top four teams at the end of the season qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The bottom three teams are relegated to the Football League Championship.
