About AACPS

The Ann Arbor Amateur Football League (AACPS) is a non-profit organization that provides a fun and competitive football experience for adults in the Ann Arbor area. The league was founded in 1978 and currently has over 100 teams in 6 divisions.

AACPS teams are made up of players of all skill levels, from former college players to those who have never played football before. The league offers a variety of divisions to accommodate players of all levels, including a recreational division, a competitive division, and a women's division.

AACPS games are played on Saturdays and Sundays during the fall and spring. The league also hosts a playoffs and championship game at the end of each season.

Rules

AACPS uses the USA Football rules for amateur football. The rules are designed to be simple and easy to understand, while still providing a fun and competitive experience for players of all levels.

Some of the key rules of AACPS football include:

• The game is played on a regulation-sized football field.
• There are 11 players on each team.
• The game is played in four 12-minute quarters.
• There is a running clock.
• Touchdowns are worth 6 points.
• Field goals are worth 3 points.
• Extra points are worth 1 point.
