The 16/2 football league is an amateur football league in Nigeria. It is named after the scoreline of the Nigeria vs. Ghana match in the 1980 African Cup of Nations, which Nigeria won. The league is open to all amateur football teams in Nigeria.

The 16/2 football league was founded in 1981 by a group of football enthusiasts in Nigeria. The league was initially intended to be a one-off tournament, but it was so successful that it became a permanent fixture in the Nigerian football calendar.

The 16/2 football league has been won by a number of different teams over the years, including Enugu Rangers, Kano Pillars, and Shooting Stars. The current champions are Enyimba International.
