Introduction
The ??S? is an amateur football league in the Netherlands. It is the highest level of amateur football in the country, and is affiliated to the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB). The league was founded in 1971, and currently consists of 18 teams.
Season structure
The ??S? season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of professional football in the Netherlands. The bottom two teams are relegated to the Tweede Divisie, the third tier of amateur football.
