Hume City FC

<p>Hume City FC was originally formed in 1974 by working class migrants at cafe in the back streets of Kensington. Cengiz Binyazar, Halit Kirdar and Abdullah Saglam are credited with laying the initial foundations for what will serve an important part in Victorian football history.The club previously known by the name of Holland Park Soccer Club, officially registered with the Victorian Soccer Federation in 1979, with Emin Aslan holding the position of president in its inaugural season.A popular community club, the club competed in amateur leagues attracting some of the largest crowds and support in its league of competition.In 1993, the board made a decision to move its home to Reddish Reserve, and rename the club to North Coburg S.C. It was here where the club started to build a very strong base where juniors became a major part of its core operations. The club seniors continued its way up the leagues getting promoted after successful seasons in State League 4 & 3 competitions.In 2006, the club decided to take a new path, in ensuring the longevity and survival of the club into the future. Setting itself a 5 year plan, in which it promised its members a new state of the art facility and a team competing at the highest level of competition within Victoria.After making it into the Victorian Premier League in 2007, the club was almost relegated if it wasn’t for a 93rd minute header by one of its local heroes Tansel Baser against Frankston Pines FC.The club followed with three consecutive preliminary finals, falling just short at the final hurdle from making the grand final. Even though, reasonable success was being achieved at the top, the club as a whole suffered immensely.The boards Identification of Valley Park, in Broadmeadows as the growth corridor, within the northern suburbs, the lack of available facilities, and inadequate grounds meant the temporary and unfortunate dismantling of its juniors to almost one third of its peak, the club developed a tag as the nomads of Victorian football, playing its home games out of both Knights and Epping Stadiums.The achievement of its major aims at the end of the 2013 VPL season resulted in the completion of its facilities at Valley Park, comprising of, four playing and training fields, a 580 seat stadium and social club with a commercial kitchen and bar, along with eight change rooms, rehabilitation, medical rooms and gymnasium.Hume City FC, is now focused on rebranding its club to be the elite pathway club for the best juniors in its region, providing fully accredited coaches at all age levels competing in the 2014 National Premier League.</p>
