THE MAIWAND ACADEMY The Trail of a History! Maiwand Academy is mainly a people based and supported organisation that began 55 years ago as Maiwand Sports Club in Kabul the capital city of Afghanistan and has achieved sports and social values. Away from home land, the lack of social needs for us and preservation of our culture for future generations has become a challenge in the West. Also, adapting to the ways of life in this country is not optional and is pivotal to a better and healthy life and achievements. Therefore in mid-2011 in London a group of club members and supporters in consultation with the most senior personalities of the club decided to put the club’s values into practice and established the Maiwand Academy. The Academy currently offers sports activities, educational support & guidance and social activities. Football Maiwand Academy is currently active appearing in Middlesex County Saturday League and the children’s team has just begun. Parents could also walk away from the stress of working life and attend with their children to join the seniors team for a work out and socialisation. Football trainings are held outdoors in the summer and indoors or outdoors in the winter. Education Support and guidance will be provided to member students in different fields of study from primary to degree level. Social The Academy will be arranging social activities for families. How we operate Maiwand Sports Club had been a mutual support to both the club and its people that has proven the creation of the values we benefited so far.
