Wycombe Valley F.C earned a point in their opening fixture of the Sunday Combination Division Four season in an entertaining 3-3 game against H-Town earlier today.
Manager Dale Why handed debuts to the Rose Brothers Den, Corbin and Elliot, Dan Thomson, Michael Tredwell, Aidan Brace and Jake Nicholls.
The game started off brightly for 'The Valley' and they were head when new boy Dan Thomson poked home a Grant Martin cross.
...
Chances for both teams thought the opening exchanges however it was H-Town who eventually made Wycombe Valley pay for a lapse in concentration.
H-Town were not done there and they punished 'The Valley' once again, capitalising on another defensive error.
Despite several chances, Wycombe Valley went into the break 2-1 down.
A nasty elbow to the head saw the impressive Corbin Rose brought of so he could receive some quite frankly appalling and hilarious medical attention.
The message was simple from manager Dale Why to his new team 'We must not lose this game'. Que a formation change and the introduction of debutant John Tilbury and Luke Danning.
Valley knocked at the door several times but most shots were placed comfortably into the keepers arms.
It was Grant Martin who again provided an assist, as he crossed for John Tilbury to rise and head the equaliser in to make it 2-2.
H-Town regained their league pretty much from nothing after a long ball was not dealt with Valley keeper Darren Gibbons which allowed the grateful H-Town striker a chance to slot the ball into the net to make it 3-2.
With around five minutes left and orders to throw the kitchen sink at the H-Town defence. Grant Martin brought the ball down and slotted home to secure Wycombe Valley their first point as a team.
