Wreckingham FC 5 vs 4 MONGREL

The last game of the season, WFC needed to win to not finish bottom of the league. It was a friendly in the end due to the opposition fielding only 2 of their players, so it was the highest ranked team against the lowest ranked team and WFC were on top early with a couple of goals from Ed, one a curling ball to the back post which was put in with a controlled volley and a low left foot drive. The opposition pulled one back not too long after before WFC went on a streak of clinical finishing on the break after withstanding waves of attack mainly due to Josh. Connor came out with the ball from a scramble in the box and put it in an empty net and then Billy scored 2 with a low right footed shot and an incredible volley flicked over the keeper who came charging out, 5-1. The opposition continued to attack and Josh continued to keep them out with a string of quality saves, helped by good defensive work in front of him. As WFC were waiting for the game to end the opposition added 3 late goals to make the scoreline close in what was really a comfortable win for WFC, 5-4.
