The Quay drew 1-1 for the second week running as their games without a league win stretched to seven games.
In a host of changes Clynch, Adams, Henderson and Elgie came back into the side in a 4-1-4-1 formation with Henderson the lone frontman.
Whitburn went ahead early on as a free kick from the right hand side was unluckily headed into his own net by Henderson who seemed to misjudge the pace of the cross.
In a quick response the Saints should of levelled when Clynch found himself unmarked infront of goal but his touch evaded him and the keeper rushed out to claim the ball.
Elgie stung the keepers hands before the Saints levelled on the stroke of half time a corner from Wilkinson fell to captain Dale Johnson who struck first time past the keeper.
At the start of the second half Elgies cross looped over everyone and cannoned back off the crossbar with no one waiting for the rebound.
Saints keeper Charlton then pulled off a couple of great saves from the Whitburn number 9 diving full stretch to keep the scores level
With time running out an end to end encounter ensued with both sides going for it but the score remained the same and the sides had to settle for a point a piece.
