Wear United FC 9 vs 4 The Dolphin FC

United took on The Dolphin at King Georges looking to continue where we left off last week. 

It looked like we might when on 3 minutes Gary Simmons played the ball to Scott Stevenson and his thunderbolt came back off the bar. However just a minute later The Dolphin broke down the left and put the ball into the net.

It took 10 minutes for United to level. Scott Stevenson picked up the ball and twisted and turned past 2 defenders before hammering it home.

It was short lived as a minute later The Dolphin were back in front. Another break away with a hint of offside and the ball slid past keeper Steve Barnes

On 18 minutes United levelled again. Jonny Angus releasing Gary "Bobby Lad" Simmons and he made no mistake with his finish

United then went ahead on 24 minutes. This time it was Gary Simmons who played it to Jonny Angus and he turned and hit the ball into the net

United doubled the lead on 26 minutes when Michael Earles came close to scoring but the ball bounced back off the bar and Chris Brown passed to Scott Stevenson who placed it into the net

The Dolphin weren't giving up and made it 4-3 on 28 minutes when Steve Barnes slid out to collect a through ball and misjudged it and the player slotted into an empty net

The 2 goal cushion was restored on 31 minutes when Luke Tate took a throw in to Gary Simmons who turned and hit the net for his second of the game.

Half Time - Wear United 5-3 The Dolphin

United scored their 6th goal on 55 minutes when Scott Stevenson curled a shot to the back post and the keeper saved it but it landed perfectly onto Gary Simmons head to complete the "perfect" hattrick

United nearly made it 7 when Chris Brown took a shot which deflected off a defender and came back off the post on 65 mins but 3 minutes later it was 7-3 with the goal of the game. Gary Simmons throwing the ball to Michael Earles who took a touch and released a fantastic shot from 30 yards which went over the keeper and into the top corner.

The Dolphin still weren't giving up and scored again from the penalty spot after a foul by Stu Bowman. Keeper Steve Barnes went the right way but it was put right into the bottom corner.

On 79 minutes United scored their 8th goal. Chris Brown switching play to the left to left back Stu Bowman. He crossed the ball looking for Gary Simmons in the box but it was an inch too high but Gary's jump put the keeper off and Stu's cross ended up in the net

The rout was complete on 81 minutes when a poor kick out by The Dolphin keeper landed with veteran striker Steve Walls and he beautifully lobbed the ball back over the keeper and into the net from 25 yards
