Watling 2 - 2 Brickhill Wanderers

Watling began the new season with a tough game against Brickhill who finished just above us last season.

A slow start from Watling found us 1-0 down inside 2 minutes.

Watling grew into the game and 25 minutes in Brickhill partially cleared a free kick which fell to Isaac 25 yards out and a sweetly struck sidefoot floated beautifully into the far top corner! Cheers of "we love you Wilson we do" broke out around Moore Crescent.

A momentary lapse of concentration saw Brickhills striker grab his second of the game (he will score a lot more this season for sure!)

2-1 down at half time the boys were given a little kick to get them going and it was 10 times better 2nd half.

Watling missed a couple of good chances and that mixed with a determined Brickhill centre back had us staring at a defeat but a great solo run from Harry and an emphatic finish brought us level.

The game could gave gone either way but thankfully Kyle made a fingertip save onto the post in the last minute to secure Watling a deserved point.

A good result against a Brickhill side who will certainly be near the top this season.
