Walsall Wood Snipers U12s 0 vs 3 Lichfield City U12

In very cold & difficult conditions Snipers looked to continue there winning streak against a very tough Lichfield side, unfortunately this was not to be. After just 40 seconds Lichfield took the lead, a powerful run by the big striker ( a clear foot or two taller than the other boys ) smashed into the bottom corner. Snipers didn’t back down & tried to hit back on the counter. Eric making some very good saves & poor shooting kept the score at 1-0. H/t

2nd half Snipers earned some more chances, even going down to 8 players due to 1 off to illness & 1 due to personal withdrawal. Brandon got a few 1 on 1s which couldn’t quite find the target, Eric came out & was a threat, with Wezza going in goal. Unfortunately in a goalmouth scramble Wezza gave away a penalty, Lichfields striker missed the target again. Defensively Snipers was solid but working hard, Zak had the middle ground covered & clear chances was being stopped, Ryan & Leo blocking & tackling any threat that came close. The extra man did eventually pay off though & Lichfield doubled the lead after 45 min, then adding a 3rd on 54.

Snipers got a few more corners but couldn’t get a goal, but the boys did not give in & worked hard, finishing positive. 2 more games in this League section with Snipers falling from 3rd.
