Deal Town U13 2 vs 2 Unique FC U13

Afternoon boys,

Hope we have all recovered after Sunday, another tremendous win away from home, please find attached my report from the game.

I thought we started the game really well boys despite going 2-0 down with what I’d consider two really sloppy goals defensively & without really being troubled we found ourselves a mountain to climb, but as did last week, we found a way to do so.

In windy conditions & playing against a very physical side, I felt we dropped to there level in certain aspects of the game & although I felt we dominated the game throughout I felt our decision making in the final third throughout the game was either too slow or lacked quality & that needs to be better, we will do some work on our final third entries this Friday.

Having said that what I cannot ever fault this group from is endeavour and character & after Leon scored a wonderful goal to get us back in the game, we went to the very end & eventually got our rewards when Theo scored a great free kick with a couple of mins left.

Theo I want to give you a mention, I thought you was absolutely outstanding again, your a leader within the group & I felt at times on Sunday you really drove us on to get back into the game well done.

We changed shape in game to 4–4-2, 3-5-2, 3-3-4 when we chucked the kitchen sink last 10 mins & you all took on board the instructions really well in terms of shape out of possession, well done for this boys!

As for the Pens, I said to you before boys I don’t believe they are a lottery and if you have a quality you will score, we scored all FOUR pens & this allowed Eddie to be the hero with two great saves to get us over the line.

Another really satisfying afternoons work boys & the spirit in the group is really building but please don’t get lulled into a false sense of security because we have won 2 games in a row, far tougher tests are on the horizon & we have to keep putting points on the board in league.
